About IS Jobs

IS Jobs is a community-maintained database for academic Information Systems hiring, paired with private tools that help candidates organize their own searches.

A shared academic jobs resource

The public database brings openings from many institutions into one searchable place and organizes them by academic hiring season. Community members can submit missing jobs, and season maintainers can correct public records. Each listing points back to the employer’s original posting, which remains the authoritative source for deadlines, qualifications, and application instructions.

IS Jobs is independent from the universities and employers represented in its listings. It does not recruit for them, accept applications on their behalf, or guarantee that a posting remains open. Candidates should always verify a listing with the institution before acting on it.

Public information and private workflow

Anyone can browse the job database, read prior seasons, use the public REST API, and submit a public opening without an account. An optional account adds saved searches, contribution history, self-service API tokens, and a private application tracker. Tracker entries, notes, stages, and history do not appear in public listings.

The project is currently owned and operated by Zenan Chen. Community maintainers help steward public season data, but their permissions do not include private accounts or trackers. The source code and public API contract are available for inspection so people and software agents can understand how the service works.
